The Specified Animal Pathogens Order 1993

This Order implements the provisions relating to pathogens of Council Directive 92/118/EEC (laying down animal health and public health requirements governing trade in and imports into the Community of products not subject to the saild requirements laid down in specific Community rules referred to in Annex A(I) to Directive 89/662/EEC and, as regards pathogens, to Directive 90/425/EEC) (OJ No. L62, 15.3.93, p. 49). It removes the requirement for an import licence for animal pathogens imported from another Member State. It creates a requirement, subject to exceptions, for any person possessing certain animal pathogens or wishing to introduce them into aniamls to do so in accordance with a alicence and contains provisions as to enforcement.
